Fort Horsted can be easily reached via rail and bus routes.

Chatham Mainline railway station services both connections from London and the Kent coast. Fort Horsted is a ten minute taxi ride from the station For train times phone National Rail Enquiries 0845 7484950.

 

From the Railway Station turn right and walk down the hill. You will come to the Bus Station on your right.

The 101 bus towards Maidstone will take you up the Maidstone Road. The Bus Stops near the junction with Primrose Close.

Alternative bus routes from other areas are available. Please check with the local bus company, Arriva.

The Fort is still undergoing major rejuvenation and your help would be appreciated in keeping the smooth running of the construction.

 

As you turn into Primrose Close from the A230 (Horsted Way), follow the road to the left and then bear right into the Fort entrance. Upon reaching the Fort and as you approach the drawbridge you will see an intercom on the right, dial 11 and wait for directions. Parking will be in the designated parking spaces.
