THE INSIDE 

Before we start, let's clear up one of the most common questions - "what is the difference between the bowel and the colon?".

Well the bowel and the colon are the same thing. For such a lowly organ, the bowel has many names.

It is called The Bowel (obviously!), it is also called The Colon (hence, colon hydrotherapy!). It can also be referred to as either The Large Intestines or The Large Bowel.

                            

Whatever you call it, the bowel is a basic organ and not very sophisticated, yet we expect it to cope in our very busy and hectic lifestyles.

So much can have an impact on the bowel. Some we can have control over, such as our diet, exercise and hydration levels. Other factors, such as stress, worry and anxiety are not so easy to control and these are some of the main causes of irregular and problem prone bowels.

Food intolences and allergies seem to be more and more common nowadays and any imbalance in the digestive system will have a knock-on effect later on in the bowel.
